The New Hit Isekai Is It's Not a SAO Ripoff, but It's still influenced by a different Series

A majority of the comments on Crunchyroll regarding the premiere episode of the brand new season isekai named The New Gate understandably say it's a copycat from Sword Art Online, but it's more influenced by an obscure isekai known as In the Land of Leadale. It appears that The setup of The New Gate certainly is based around the idea that is Sword Art Online as players aren't able to leave the VMMORPG and be killed to death in real. Also, the character's attire is more than similar to what Kirito has on when playing Sword Art Online.

The problem is that the first part that is part of The New Gate is just the background, while the main plot is a lot more similar to In The Land of Leadale. In actuality, The New Gate's main storyline begins exactly in the same place that the initial portion of SAO was over with the revelation that Kirito was trapped within Aincrad following the log-out of everyone else off. One could say that it began at the New Gate's version of SAO's ALfheim Online, because the world that Shin is in seems more real.

But, the issue that Shin isn't able to quit the game isn't exclusive for Sword Art Online This is actually the way In the Land of Leadale opens. In addition, who Shin has to be with is a major aspect of the isekai series.

The brand new Gate is a part of the Future of VMMORPG with NPCs as in the Land of Leadale

A lot of the story the Land of Leadalerevolves around one woman in the real world who's mind is caught within her own game, which is played out constantly by the character Keino as she lies being on life support in the hospital. But, she is transported to the future in which the only characters left to play are non-playable characters when everyone else from the world has gone off in good faith. In addition, the first episodes are centered around Keino not only figuring out how changes have occurred in the world, as well as the extent to which she is powerful she's become due to the fact due to her being of a different time and also that those children that she created as NPCs remain and are all prosperous.

Similar to Keino, Shin has been taken into an alternate reality of his gaming world, and there don't seem to be any real world players in any of the locations. In addition, he's not just learning that changes have occurred during the game's time-switch, but also Shin is more of an anomaly due to the period in which that his character is fromand the fact that one of his supporting characters called Schnee has remained and is able to exert some influence in the world of. Also, similar to Keino's digital siblings, Shin doesn't meet Schnee in the first place and isn't yet at the time episode 1 is over and could last several episodes similar to in the Land of Leadale,to increase the mystery and suspense about how Schnee has evolved.

Because the portion that is Sword Art Online which is the source of The New Gate borrows from is mostly used for the story behind it, it's appropriate to state that the story is a lot inspired by In the Land of Leadale. What The New Gate does have something similarities with Sword Art Online is that Shin is likely to join forces with female character supporting roles. This is why the similarities end. The Land of Leadale won't be exactly like or the previous series. Keino is a woman who is clearly not attracted by women with a lot of glitz, whereas Shin certainly is a male with these traits.
