Oshi no Ko Manga Goes On Temporary Hiatus

Oshi no Ko's fans will need to wait until September at least to see the new chapter.

Manga version of popular anime series Oshi No Ko will be on a temporary break for at least one month. The author of the manga, Aka Akasaka has been battling health problems. This delay will not only affect Oshi no Ko but also Renai daikou a popular manga series Akasaka is working on.

Akasaka announced the hiatus via his official twitter page. There, he posted details about the hiatus as well as a message by Aka Akasaka. Akasaka is on his way to recovery and the issue appears to be resolved, but he still needs to complete the work he missed in the last month. This is why he took a break, to allow him to catch up on the work that was missed over the past month.

Oshi no Ko was a huge hit when it premiered earlier this year. Oshi No Ko stood out as a special anime in a world that is flooded with idol anime. It was a mix of idol anime and murder mystery that won over fans all around the globe. The opening song, "Idol", by YOASOBI, has broken records and even topped music charts outside Japan despite it being in Japanese.

It is not uncommon for the popularity of an anime to drive sales of manga, as well as the demand from fans, especially after the animation finishes. The Oshi no Ko Manga will no doubt disappoint some fans, but knowing why it was delayed will hopefully help. Akasaka said that he had been struggling with his health a month before, but now he is feeling better.

Akasaka is best known for his manga Kaguya Sama: Love is War. This was also the last manga that he illustrated. He has now shifted his focus to writing, and he is doing this for Oshi No Ko as well as Renai Daikou. Mengo Yokoyari, the artist of Oshi no Ko and Nishizawa5mm, is responsible for Renai daikon. Akasaka's desire to devote more time to writing was justified, based on the success of Oshi no Ko.

Akasaka stated in his tweet that he now works under better conditions and will use this time to catch up on his work both for Oshi no Ko as well as Renai daikon. manga is notorious for its long hours, pressure, and impossible deadlines. We wish Aka Akasaka the best of health and are proud of his honesty with fans. In September, everyone will eagerly await the return of Renai Daikou and Oshi No Ko.

At the time this article was published, Oshi No Ko planned to return in 2023 on September 14th and Renai Daikou scheduled for September 7th.
