Oshi No Ko burst on the scene during the Spring 2023 season. A dramatic and dark anime, it is about the predatory practices of the idol industry as well as the dangers of social media. It's a thought-provoking and complex series, with many themes. But it is also fun and accessible because the themes are expressed by lovable characters.
Oshi No Ko main characters are more than they appear to be. They get caught up in a web that includes lies, hurt feelings and desperate ambitions. Oshi No Ko has already produced some of the fandom's favorite characters. It also features some of 2023’s Best Boys and Girls. MyAnimeList users agree, and they voted for the characters that are truly the best.
Sarina Tendouji
Sarina Tendouji is one of the original characters in Oshi No Ko. She was a 12-ish-year-old girl in the hospital who only had a TV to cheer her up and Ai Hoshino’s idol performances. Sarina's physician, Dr. Gorou was also an Ai fan.

Oshi No Kofans love Sarina even though her time on the show was short. She was a charming, hopeful girl with a relatable story. She wanted to be someone but it wasn't going to happen in her lifetime. Sarina was reborn under the name Ruby Hoshino, and her life would be completely restarted.
Gorou Amemiya
Dr. Gorou Amemiya, another Oshi No Ko character appears in two forms in the anime. He was first introduced as the rural doctor with dark hair who looked after his patient Sarina. Dr. Gorou, like Ai, was a big fan of Ai, but he was more quiet and dryly humorous about it.
Dr. Gorou met Ai Hoshino personally and was shocked when he learned of her pregnancy. Ai Hoshino was pregnant with twins and Dr. Gorou tried to keep this secret from Ai until his death. A stalker then stabbed Dr. Gorou and killed him one evening. Dr. Gorou was reborn into one of the newborn babies in his hospital.
Taishi Gotanda
Taishi Gotanda appears early in Oshi No Ko as a movie director who witnessed Aqua Hoshino acting for the first time. Aqua and Taishi grew closer in Aqua's early days, and Taishi eventually became Aqua's father figure. Taishi became quite popular with anime fans.
Aqua, then a teenager, plotted to get revenge against Ai. Taishi, still his father figure, supported the idea. Aqua does not see Taishi in the same light as his father. The two have a history of verbal jabs and are often seen as rivals. However, he is still Aqua's closest friend.
Miyako Saito
Miyako Saito debuted in Oshi No Ko's first lengthy episode as the then-wife of Strawberry Productions President, Ichigo. She eventually succeeded him to become the company's CEO. She was also the foster mom to Aqua and Ruby and even took care of them before Ai died.
Miyako Saito has a charming and humorous Oshi No Kocharacter, with flaws and weaknesses that are relatable. She has a serious side as well, and is a very competent member of entertainment. She gives Ruby some stern advice but with good intentions.
Mem-Cho
Mem-Cho made his debut as a supporting character in Oshi No Ko, a few episodes later. Mem-Cho is an expert on social media. She knows not only what type of content to create, but also when to share the content in order to gain more views and shares.
Mem-Cho, a 24-year-old with a youthful look and a carefree disposition, is one of Oshi No Ko’s funniest and most innocent characters. She is also known for having a "cute devil's" appearance with two small horns and bat-like wings on her back.
Ruby Hoshino
Sarina was literally reborn into Ruby Hoshino. She is the daughter of Ai Hoshino. Ruby isn't too attached to her former life as seen in Oshi No Ko anime. She's more excited about pursuing the dream of becoming a popular idol, like Ai.
Ruby, along with her twin brother Aqua is the star of Oshi no Ko. She is captivating to watch. Ruby is bratty at times and can make mistakes, but she also has a lot of sympathy and understands the plight of a wannabe actress with a lot to prove.
Akane Kurokawa
Akane Kurokawa, the teenage actress, made waves in Oshi No Ko episode six. Aqua Hoshino helped her overcome the dark side of the internet after she slapped another girl in a dating show. Akane has recovered and is infatuated by her classmate, who was also her savior.

Akane is a talented young performer who just needs to have another chance to show it off and build her self-esteem. She is a promising young performer but her personal life could distract her. Akane has a love triangle developing with Kana, Aqua and herself. It could get messy.
Aquamarine Hoshino
Aquamarine, or Aquamarine, Hoshino is the star of Oshi no Ko alongside his twin sister Ruby. Aqua's attitude towards his rebirth as Ai Hoshino is very different from hers. Aqua sees Ai as an idol and not her "mama," so he would rather avenge Ai than be like her.
Aqua is the classic "cool guy", aloof, calculating and popular with girls. His personality is mixed, as Aqua is cold and can have mild stalker tendencies. However, he also saved Akane from death on his own and supports Kana and Ruby in his Pieyon disguise.
Ai Hoshino
Ai Hoshino, the music idol, embodies Oshi No Ko more than any other character. Even though she did not stick around for that long. Ai Hoshino had a difficult childhood and never experienced love, but her talent as a musician made her an idol. This meant she had to pretend to be happy, loving and to ignore her own pain.
Ai had been a successful star for B Komachi, but she began to doubt herself after the birth of her two children. Ai wasn't certain if she loved Aqua and Ruby, but as she was dying, Ai realized that it was true. This allowed Ai to die peacefully, but the darkness in the Hoshino household had just begun.
Kana Arima
Kana Arima was a successful child actor who then saw her career decline. Kana Arima, now a teenager has another chance to become a star with Ruby's B Komachi group. Kana is the member with the most power, even if she's the least enthusiastic. Her superior singing voice and her name recognition are the reasons for this.
Kana is an Oshi No Kofan favorite because she's a total Tsundere. She often loses her temper and denies warm feelings towards others. She was also caught up in a triangle of love between Akane and herself, but just because she is stronger than Akane doesn't mean that she will win.
