One Piece's anime includes amazing artwork hidden in impact frames that pay homage to Luffy’s transformations. It also teases Gear 5th.
The One Piece One Piece One Piece anime finally saw Luffy fight Kaido in the Wano Arc. Some keen-eyed viewers spotted stunning frames that pay homage to Luffy's forms and tease his Gear 5th power-up. The One Piece Manga was on a break so that the creator of the series, Eiichiro, Oda, could recuperate from undergoing minor surgery. Fans of the series were able to enjoy the stunning anime episodes which aired while the manga was on break. Episode 1069 of One Piece was no different with Kaido's and Fourth Gear Luffy’s final fight.
Episode #1069 showed everything Luffy has to offer in Fourth Gear Forms. Still, impact frames hidden during his final charge showed even more. The Straw Hat captain knows that he cannot hold out much longer and so, near the 21:15 mark, he launches a final attack against Kaido in his most bloodthirsty state. As the Straw Hat Captain prepares his King Kong Gun attack, images of Luffy in each of his gear forms flash across the screen, including an incredibly shiny look at Gear 5. One Piece creator Library of Ohara also shared these images on Twitter.

Manga readers are aware of what is coming, and Luffy’s transformation will be difficult to conceal. Gear 5 turns the series upside down with Luffy’s awakened Devil Fruit. The Five Elders are so afraid of the devilfruit that they will sacrifice top World Government agents in order to stop it. This is not the first time that the form was teased by One Piece.
One Piece Film : Red is not canon even though it reveals shocking details such as the truth of Shanks's family in One Piece. The film includes a glimpse at Luffy's 5th Gear in the film's finale, when Luffy uses his strongest attack to briefly transform into the mysterious form. The movie does not include the unique abilities that the transformations offer, making it seem like a waste of time. The One Piece animation has been more subtle by teasing the next form through impact frames in Luffy's battle with One Piece's strongest creature' as early as episode #1028.
Gear 5 has been tainted by sneaky one-piece impact frames
Luffy's epic transformation has become more popular than any One Piece before, thanks to its increasing popularity around the world. The impact frames are being used by animators to hype up Gear 5th, possibly as a way of expressing their excitement about what could be the most important moment in anime this year. Recent episodes such as Zoro's fight against King, and Big Mom’s final battle with Kid and Law set the bar for creating One Piece episodes that are cinematic. Gear 5's debut could smash that bar in a big way.
