A new trailer provides the first official look of its anime debut. The launch of Luffy's Gear 5 is one of One Piece's biggest events.
The One Piece anime has released a brand new trailer, which gives the first look at Gear 5's debut in the anime. Gear 5's reveal and all the lore that surrounded it, including what it revealed about Luffy’s Devil Fruit was one of One Piece's biggest events in recent years. The question was then, when would the anime adapt it? It was not clear when Gear 5 would make its anime debut due to the slow pace of the anime. However, the Wano Arc's high-quality animation made it a must-see event.
A new trailer for One Piece has confirmed the debut date of Gear 5. A new anime trailer released as part of One Piece Day, 2023, revealed the first look at Gear 5 and confirmed its appearance on August 6, in episode #1071, “Luffy’s Peak – Attained!” Gear Fifth". Gear Fifth".

One Piece episode 1071 is Gear 5's first official anime appearance, but it has already been in the anime. Red was constructed in such a way as to place its story following the Wano Arc, so it was only natural that Gear 5 should appear there. Gear 5 should look very different in One Piece than it does in One Piece: Red. Gear 5 was only given a few seconds of screen time in Red and its color palette was never shown. The anime will have the ability to showcase Gear 5 in a much greater way than Red, due to the content that it is adapting. Red did a great job of showcasing Gear 5, but the anime will go even further.
Gear 5 already looks amazing in the One Piece Anime
One Piece has so far only shown a glimpse of Gear 5's portrayal in the anime. But even this is amazing. The animation and art have the same fluidity and creative choreography as the best episodes from the Wano Arc, and each frame perfectly captures the chaotic energy that Gear 5 is supposed to embody. The anime had to be as grand as possible because Gear 5 was such a big event. And the trailer shows that this is exactly what they're doing.
It is easy to understand the incredible quality of Gear 5’s debut when you consider the staff behind episode #1071. Tatsuya Nakamine, known for his Dragon Ball Super Broly directing, will also be directing episode #1071. It will be animated by Midori Matsuda & Keita Saito. The same team is responsible for the amazing animation in Zoro & King's Fight episode #1062. One Piece is clearly bringing their best talent to bring Gear 5 to life. And just by looking at the teaser trailer, it's clear that this will be one of the most exciting episodes to date.
