Aqua and Ruby have finally learned about each other's previous lives.
After waiting for years, Oshi No Ko finally gave fans the Aqua & Ruby moment that they have been waiting for. It also happens at the perfect moment in the manga. Events are aligned in such a way that the revelation feels incredibly cathartic. This is just another reason why Oshi No Ko was one of the most popular mangas of its time.
Chapter #122 of Oshi no Ko translated by Felicia Sumali followed up with a twist ending in Oshi no Ko’s previous chapter. Ruby broke down, and Aqua heard her secret. Aqua is shocked to learn that Ruby was the reincarnation of Sarina. He knew her in his previous life as a physician. Aqua calls her by the name she used in her previous life, which makes her realize that he is her reincarnation. It is a touching and cathartic experience that helps her overcome the mental breakdown.
Oshi no Ko Has Aqua and Ruby Reveal Their Past Lives
Fans have been anticipating this moment ever since it was revealed that Ruby is the reincarnation of Sarina. Oshi no Ko creators Aka Akasaka & Mengo Yokoyari saved the revelation of Aqua & Ruby's relationship for when it would have maximum impact. Both Aqua and Ruby are being pushed to the limit in this current arc. They feel immense pressure to avenge themselves for their mother's murder. Ruby's quest for revenge would be destroyed if she didn't change anything. Her learning about the traumatizing truth of her mother Marina, and her busy schedule, were breaking her. Aqua and Ruby's past identities will hopefully change this.
They can now work together in order to exact their revenge. It should relieve them of a lot of stress. Ruby's desire for revenge should also be lessened, as she now knows that her doctor is alive and well in some form. This revelation will hopefully restore some of Ruby's former brightness. Her initial discovery of the murder of her doctor was what ignited her darkness. She can also hopefully lessen Aqua's inner dark side, which has caused him to ruin some of Oshi No Ko most popular relationships.
Oshi no Ko Will Be Changed by the Twins' Reveal
This reveal will have an impact on the plot no matter what. Even though the series is in its final episode, there's still much to be done before the twins can find their mother's killer. Oshi No Ko will hopefully enable Aqua, and Ruby do all of this together and be as supportive as they were during their previous lives as Sarina & Gorou.
