Is Blue Lock manga on a break?

The Blue Lock Manga's popularity is exploding and sales are at their peak. Over 8.04 million copies were sold in 2018. Since August 2018, the Blue Lock Manga, created by Yusuke Nômura and illustrated by Muneyuki Knehiro, is serialized in Kodansha Weekly Shonen Magazine. By May 2023, the chapters of this manga will be collected into 24 tankobon books.

After a recent series of weekly releases, many fans were surprised when the blue lock manga took a week-long break following the release of Chapter 220. Fans are relieved to know that this is not a long-term break. Blue Lock has a fixed period of hiatus as opposed to other titles which have an indefinite hiatus.

Blue Lock manga will be back on June 14, 2023

The Blue Lock Manga released Chapter 220 titled Seesaw Game, before taking a break on May 31st, 2023. On June 14, 2023 at 12am JST, the manga will return with Chapter 221, Take Me. The manga's announcement of a break from May 31 through June 13 surprised fans. There are still sporadic breaks because manga creators need to take breaks. However, most people are happy that the breaks are not too frequent.

The manga creator also needed a rest from the pressure of releasing chapters every week. The latest chapter also features Michael Kaiser's outrageous bicycle goal which has excited fans. Many fans believe the next chapter will be long and include the final game.

The manga is also currently in the Neo-Egoist League arc with chapter 220 just released. Blue Lock will become a massive entertainment program that is designed to prepare its players for U-20 World Cup. The Second Phase of Blue Lock will be the time when this happens.

The Blue Lock also hosted teams of U20 level from France and Germany. These included England's Manshine City as well as Bastard Muchen in Germany, Italy's Ubers, and France's Paris X Gen. The Blue Lock program required that each player choose a country to train with before participating in an exciting tournament.

A quick recap of Blue Lock manga chapter 220

Blue Lock Chapter 220 contained slightly less information than its previous chapter. It did, however, witness a fierce battle between Bastard Manyen and Ubers. The chapter also showed that Isagi had no choice but to give the ball to Yukimiya at the end of the third because he was out of options.

Michael Kaiser intercepted Isagi's passing in the chapter. Kaiser also managed to avoid Sendo and Aryu. In the chapter's final scene, Kaiser used Kaiser Impact to score an absurd bicycle goal.

Final Thoughts

The Blue Lockmanga will be on hiatus until next Wednesday. It is also important for manga creators to have periodic breaks because the manga industry can be unforgiving and unhealthy.

Giving the creators an extra week off will also relieve them of some pressure, allowing them to produce more amazing content.
