Jiraiya, one of Hidden Leaf's legendary Sannin, had much to teach Naruto. But perhaps his most important lesson was when he died.
Naruto Uzumaki had a number of highly-skilled teachers in his youth. But Jiraiya sensei made the biggest impact. Jiraiya, Naruto’s godfather, filled the void in the boy's life and gave him a sense of family that he had been missing since birth. He taught him some of the most important life lessons, as well as incredibly powerful jutsu. Jiraiya is affectionately known as Pervy Sage, by Naruto. Some fans are focused on Jiraiya’s questionable literary practices -- especially when you consider how many of these he took Naruto on -- but what he taught Naruto on their journeys was much more than just perfecting "sexy Jutsu".
Jiraiya, who was also Minato's Fourth Hokage and Minato Namikaze’s instructor, had a particular affection for Naruto. He was not only a reminder of his former student but also possessed a determination that could not be ignored. Despite Naruto's struggles to grasp the Rasengan concepts, he did not give up. He encouraged Jiraiya, to make sure he reached his full potential. The bond between him and Naruto grew stronger as he realized that Naruto might be the child of a prophecy predicted by the Great Toadsage of Mount Myuboku. He spent every spare moment on Naruto, giving him the affection that he had sorely missed. Jiraiya, who was Naruto's grandfather, died. His death pushed him to new heights.
Who Killed Him - And How Does Jiraiya Die?
Pain arrives after Konan informs Nagato about the intruder. They were both equally matched until Pain arrives. The pain told Nagato his plan to use the jinchuriki he captured and the unique kinjutsu that he was going to create in order to make the world mature and stop fighting a senseless war. Pain used his animal path at the end of their conversation to summon a gigantic crustacean in order to fight Jiraiya. He prepared for Sage Mode with the help of Fukusaka, Shima, and the toads Fukusaka, Shima. But even though he succeeded, it wasn't enough to defeat the Six Paths of Pain.
He recognized that each of the six bodies was a ninja he'd encountered earlier in his search for the child prophecy. Jiraiya, after having his arm cut off and his neck crushed, realized that the Six Paths of Pain was controlled by Nagato who wasn't physically present. As he lay dying from multiple blades, Jiraiya remembered Minato, Kushina, and their desire to name their child after the Naruto character in his novel. Jiraiya then decided Naruto to be his child. He summoned his will to burn the coded message on Fukusaka’s back, which he would carry with Yahiko’s dead body inside the toad’s belly to the Hidden Leaf. The Six Paths of Pain attacked simultaneously at the end of episode 133. He pushed his body into the ocean and drowned.
Naruto used a story mechanic that is common in classic stories, whereby the master has to die for the student's potential to be realized. Jiraiya died, and the aftermath was devastating. Naruto was devastated by Jiraiya’s death. Though his first reaction was to hunt Pain and destroy him, eventually he came to Jiraiya’s point of view. They knew that more war and death would not bring them the peace they desired. When it was time for Naruto and Pain to face each other, he did not forgive Nagato, but he also didn't murder him.
Is Jiraiya Alive In Boruto?
Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the franchise, went to great lengths in order to convince fans that Jiraiya had died after his battle against Pain. Jiraiya's corpse was not found at the bottom of the ocean, even though the Fourth Shinobi World War raised the dead. In Boruto episodes 129-132 Sasuke, Boruto, and Jiraiya traveled to the Hidden Leaf where they met young Naruto. Jiraiya is the mentor for father and son in these episodes, giving Boruto a new perspective on his dad.
In Episode 214, Amado revealed that the former Kara member Kashin Koji was actually clone of Jiraiya. Amado created them to kill Isshiki. He had the same physical appearance as Jiraiya but their personalities were completely different. Koji was a serious man who had no time for frivolity. His access to the Legendary Sannin’s power also made him a formidable force. Although he initially appeared as a loyal Kara member and a villain, it was revealed later that he had been created to foil Otsutsuki’s plans.
What does Jiraiya’s headband say?
Jiraiya, despite being from Hidden Leaf Village does not wear the Konohagakure Leaf symbol that is seen in Naruto or Boruto. It displays the Kanji for "oil". Jiraiya, who was a wandering Ninja during the Second Shinobi World War, chose to do so to monitor Orochimaru's evil activities. He chose the symbol of his Mount Myuboku training and Toad Oil as a way to better tune into nature's energy.
